Dog in Nature

Services

For new clients of Comfort One Pet Grooming, we provide an orientation to introduce our services and better understand both you and your dog’s needs. Our grooming approach prioritizes minimizing stress and ensuring your dog’s comfort for a lifetime. We start with a thorough assessment to understand each dog's unique needs, allowing us to customize a grooming plan that best supports their well-being and helps you achieve your ultimate goals.

Grooming School

Using Fear Free Techniques

Most dogs do not naturally enjoy being groomed; it's a skill they must learn. Like many aspects of dog care, early effort yields lifelong benefits.

This is the focus of Puppy Grooming School, where puppies up to 6 months old are gradually introduced to common grooming tools like bathtubs, dryers, and clippers, as well as procedures such as brushing, nail clipping, and being handled on a grooming table. Following a force-free approach rooted in positive reinforcement, the program progresses at a pace that ensures your puppy feels comfortable and learns to not only accept grooming but enjoy it.

For pets still adjusting to grooming, these sessions focus on building ease with the process rather than providing full grooming services, which may take months or longer to achieve based on your dog’s comfort level and learning pace. The right approach is chosen for each puppy to ensure a positive experience.

Nail trimming and sanitary area trimming are included in the program at no additional cost.

Grooming Services

Depending on dog's needs

Full dog grooming services involve a comprehensive care routine designed to keep your dog clean, healthy, and looking their best. A typical full grooming session includes:

  1. Bathing: A thorough wash using dog-safe shampoo and conditioner to clean the coat and skin.

  2. Drying: Gentle drying with a towel and/or a dryer to ensure the coat is fully dry and fluffy.

  3. Brushing and De-shedding: Removing tangles, mats, and loose fur to promote a healthy coat and reduce shedding.

  4. Haircut/Styling: Trimming or styling the coat to suit the dog's breed, lifestyle, or owner’s preference.

  5. Nail Trimming: Carefully clipping nails to a safe length to prevent overgrowth and discomfort.

  6. Ear Cleaning: Cleaning the ears to remove wax buildup and check for signs of infection.

  7. Sanitary Trim: Trimming fur around the sanitary areas for cleanliness and hygiene.

  8. Paw Pad Care: Trimming hair between paw pads and moisturizing if needed.

Each service is tailored to the dog’s breed, coat type, and individual needs, our focus is to make the experience as stress-free as possible.

Kona

Kona's pic_edited.jpg
Hiroko has been grooming Kona for over four years after a rough start with another groomer. Hiroko is truly one in a million. From the beginning, she was patient with Kona’s fears and sensitivities, and focused on creating a calm, fear-free environment that helped her learn to trust Hiroko and the grooming process. Hiroko’s patience, kindness, and genuine love for the dogs in her care shines through in everything she does. She celebrates every small victory and meets every challenge with compassion and understanding. Over time, I’ve watched Kona go from being very anxious to a dog that calmly tolerates full grooming. Beyond her exceptional skill as a groomer, Hiroko’s gift is her heart—she truly wants every dog to feel safe and cared for. We are so grateful to have found her.
